Richmond

Meeting in the Historic Region
Metropolitan Richmond is located in the center of the state, within a two-hour drive of the Atlantic Ocean, the Blue Ridge Mountains or the nation’s capital.

Since the Second Virginia Convention was held in Richmond in 1775 when Patrick Henry delivered his “Give me liberty or give me death” speech, the city has been host to major events.

With a total of 700,000 square feet of space covering five city blocks, The Greater Richmond Convention Center is the largest convention center in Virginia. The downtown facility is centrally located among 14,300 hotel rooms, near the State Capitol and many other historic attractions.

Whether one’s passion is history, arts, gardens, antiques, fine dining, outdoor recreation, theme parks or NASCAR, there appears to be something for everyone in the Richmond region.

The sheer size, attractiveness, and central location of the Greater Richmond Convention Center make it one of the most desirable meeting destinations in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Greater Richmond Convention Center contains 16 truck bays with direct access to exhibit halls, a 258 fixed-seat lecture hall and the Fifth Street crosswalk which offers splendid views.

Adjacent parking decks hold up to 1,540 vehicles. Nearly 4,600 additional spaces are located within a six-block radius of the site. Nearby attractions include the Virginia State Capitol Building and the Richmond Coliseum, home to minor league hockey and various concerts.

From small business retreats to massive trade shows to live concerts, Richmond Raceway Complex can host any type of meeting.

The Richmond Raceway Complex facilities include diverse exhibit halls, meeting and conference rooms, multiple outdoor areas and a state-of-the-art amphitheater. In 2003, the 35,000-square-foot Old Dominion Building — a meeting and trade show facility — was refurbished.

Convenient location and free on-site parking help Richmond Raceway accommodate guests.

The complex provides a total of 162,000 square feet of exposition space in six buildings, including a 128,000-square-foot convention center that can seat 9,310 people theater style. The complex also offers an additional 8,400 square feet of meeting space in eight rooms. The largest of these rooms can handle a banquet for 140 people or a theater-style meeting for 400 people.

The Richmond Raceway Complex also hosts small meetings in the corporate hospitality suite overlooking the finish line at Richmond International Raceway or at the raceway’s infield media center. Pace car rides are available from both of these venues.
