In addition to the city’s four conference hotels, Newport News offers meeting facilities through its museums and golf courses. The Virginia Living Museum recently underwent a 62,000-square-foot expansion, offering a serene, interesting and unique setting for a meeting. Just minutes from the historical triangle of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown, Newport News is only a short drive to Virginia Beach.

ATTRACTIONS
Endview Plantation
Built in 1769, the Georgian plantation home at Endview was used by soldiers during the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812 and the Civil War.

Lee Hall Mansion
Confederate forces used this home as their headquarters during the Peninsula Campaign of 1862. The mansion includes Civil War-era furnishings and an exhibit highlighting the Peninsula Campaign.

The Mariners’ Museum
One of the largest international maritime museums in the world, the impressive collection of more than 35,000 items includes ship models, figureheads, decorative arts, scrimshaw, working steam engines, maritime paintings and other maritime artifacts. Many items from the wreck of the USS Monitor are also displayed.

The Newsome House Museum & Cultural Center
This restored 1899 Victorian landmark was the home of prominent civil rights lawyer J. Thomas Newsome.

A display of nearly all modes of military transportation are featured at this museum located at Fort Eustis.

Virginia Living Museum

Virginia War Museum
This museum focuses on U.S. military history from the Revolutionary War to the Gulf War.
