Danville is located in south central Virginia
on the Virginia and North Carolina border. The
Dan River flows through the heart of Danville
on its path from the Blue Ridge mountains to the
Kerr Reservoir just 55 miles east of the city.
Danville is 180 miles from the East Coast and
just 50 miles east of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Danville
is within a days drive to more than two thirds
of the U.S. population.
At approximately 500 feet above
sea level and protected from harsh weather extremes
by the nearby mountains, Danville enjoys four
distinct seasons.
The downtown central business
district has ample restaurants and shopping, plus
financial, professional, and government services.
The Amtrak train station, farmers market, science
museum, auctioneer’s park, public library,
Crossing of the Dan nature trail, Danville Chamber
of Commerce, and a European flavor coffee shop
are all downtown.
The area also offers biking/hiking
trails, golf and public parks for the outdoor
enthusiasts and a host of museums and historical
sites.

A brand new facility, The Institute
Conference Center consists of more than 20,000
square feet of meeting, marketing and learning
space that rivals the best facilities throughout
the Southeast. Here, visitors enjoy the atmosphere,
value and hospitality of the rural southern countryside.
With the 8,500-square-foot
great hall, which is divisible into six salons,
100-seat
executive auditorium, four exceptionally appointed
business conference rooms, stunning atrium,
multiple
break-out rooms (for a total of 15 meeting rooms)
all equipped with advanced technology, the
ICC
offers a sophisticated and inspiring meeting
environment. The Center has 34 plasma screens,
offers three-way
conferencing, award-winning culinary services,
a cyber café, and much more.
The Institute Conference Center
is able to accommodate up to 500 people banquet
style and 800 people theater style.
ROOM REPORT
Approximately 600 guest rooms are in the local
hotel alliance, with about 90 suites. They range
in price from $55 to $95.
