Description: APM Terminals is currently building
a $450 million terminal on a 575-acre parcel on the Elizabeth River to replace
its 71-acre facility. The APM Terminal will serve the Maersk Line, the largest
commercial shipping line in the world. The terminal, which is one of the largest
private investments ever in Hampton Roads, is being constructed to handle a rapid
increase in container business demand from Asia. It will quadruple available
berth space, and will provide a 50-foot water depth. The first phase opens July
2007.

cargo delivery. The terminal includes 1.2 million square feet of warehouse and
covered pier storage. The terminal is Virginia’s largest breakbulk terminal.

Description: NNMT is known for its steel carrying
capabilities. One of the terminals owned by the Virginia Port Authority, NNMT
is a 141-acre facility that can handle heavy-cargo lifting and features covered
pier and indoor storage space. A paper distribution facility, Lydall Paper Distribution
Center, is located at the terminal.

Description: NIT is Virginia Port Authority’s
largest terminal and features the world’s largest cranes. The authority
is currently expanding NIT South, a $279 million project where old warehouses
are being knocked out to be replaced with container storage, straddle carriers
have been added, a new berth constructed and eight new cranes put in place. At
NIT North, the authority recently started construction to expand the north berth
by 900 feet to make way for three new Suez class cranes.

Description: PMT is the authority’s second-largest
port terminal. It features a crane capable of lifting 110 tons. The terminal
