Cavalier Telephone, a
Richmond-based telecommunications company, will provide
a voice and data network to connect seven campus faculties
of the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts,
a hotel management company headquartered in Arlington,
was selected to manage the Ravallo Resort & Conference
Center, planned for Orlando, Fla. Ground will be broken
this fall with a December 2008 projected opening. The
twin-tower lakeside resort will have 900 condo suites

Kluge Estates Winery and Vineyard of Charlottesville,
owned by Patricia Kluge, hired Meridian Group,
a Virginia Beach-based marketing and communications firm,
to develop an integrated campaign to create brand awareness
for Vineyard Estates, an enclave of exclusive private
estates to be located on acreage among Kluge’s

Metro Machine Corp., a
Norfolk shipyard and marine contractor, reached an
agreement with the Navy over the price of dry-docking
the destroyer USS McFaul. The deal, which included
near- and long-term incentives to reduce the Navy’s
costs, allows Metro to avoid mass layoffs it had previously
announced, as well as ensure its position as a subcontractor
under a maintenance contract between BAE Systems and
