Lockheed Martin Corp., a Bethesda,
Md. aviation services firm, plans to invest $7 million
in Loudoun County to open an automated flight service
center for the Federal Aviation Administration. The
center will hire 200 people over 30 months and provide
flight plan briefings and weather conditions for pilots
east of the Mississippi River. Virginia competed against
Arizona, Florida, Maryland, Texas and Washington for
