Nestle Waters North America eliminated Botetourt and Alleghany counties
as possible sites for a new spring water bottling plant.
Storm water runoff prevented the test sites from meeting
FDA standards for spring water sources. Nestle would
have invested $120 million and hired up to 250 workers
for a bottling facility for its Deer Park products.
After eliminating searches in Western Virginia, West
Virginia and North Carolina, Nestle is concentrating
its efforts in Pennsylvania and New York. (The Roanoke
