services, formed
Lydian Solutions and Services in conjunction with Indecomm
Global Services of Iselin, N.J., a business process
services
firm. Lydian, which will be based in Louisville, Ky.,
will serve the mortgage, financial services and healthcare
industries by converting documents into digital form
and managing the documents through a proprietary onshore-offshore

Virginia announced it
will lead Pocahontas
Parkway to Transurban,
an owner and operator of electronic toll roads, headquartered
in Australia.
Under the 99-year agreement, worth about $522 million,
Transurban will
build a connector highway to Richmond International Airport,
assuming approval of federal loans for the project,
estimated at $40 million to $50 million. Toll increases
will be limited to no more than 50 cents through 2010
from the current rate of $2.25. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
The Virginia Bioinformatics Institute at Virginia
Tech entered into an agreement with the Oswaldo
Cruz Foundation of Rio de Janeiro, Brazail to facilitate
development of drugs, vaccines, and
diagnostic technologies to reduce infectious diseases
around the world, targeting dengue fever, hepatitis
C, HIV/AIDS, and influenza, among others. (PR)
Virginia International Terminals, operating
entity for the Virginia Port Authority, signed
a 10-year deal with CMA CGM, a French-based
shipping firm, that will guarantee annual arrivals
of at least 55,000 shipping containers. With this latest
agreement, an
estimated 70 percent of the port’s business is secured
