Chesapeake Corp., a Richmond-based
specialty-packaging company, sold Bourgeot Etiqso Lesbats,
a French manufacturer of labels for French wines to Autojon
Group of France for $1.5 million. Chesapeake bought Bourgeot
in 1999 as part of a deal for British packaging company
Field Group plc in 1999. Trends in the French wine market
made the company less profitable than hoped for, and Chesapeake
opted to sell and concentrate on its core businesses. (Richmond
