members at The College of William & Mary,
won a $1.9 million grant from the Transportation
Security Administration, to develop standard procedures
for rerouting cargo and ship traffic if large

PocketMate™, a unique product for travelers

Jefferson Lab, a Newport News research
lab, won support from the U.S. Department of
Energy to upgrade its Continuous Electron Beam
Accelerator Facility. If fully funded, the project
could be worth $225 million and add 40 jobs.
The resulting 12 billion-volt electron beam
would be the most powerful of its kind in the
