George Mason University’s graduate programs
in Technology Management and Bioscience Management
are among the first of their kind in the nation,
linking management education with industry-specific
needs. These programs, along with the MBA and
Executive MBA programs, provide a solid business
core with emphasis on information technologies
and communication, entrepreneurial thinking, and
global business strategy.
Our graduate students gain a global perspective
through an international residency. School of
Management faculty members have expertise in software
patent policy, information security and critical
infrastructure planning for homeland security,
systems integration, telecommunications and electronic
commerce. George Mason University is located in
Northern Virginia, the center of the information
technology industry on the east coast. Here, the
convergence of business and industry with federal,
state, and local government provides an outstanding
setting for management education. Most Mason alumni
stay in the region, offering strong connections
to the business community through the Mason family.

The Old Dominion University College of Engineering
and Technology promotes the advancement of engineering
knowledge by providing a supportive learning environment
to students, faculty, industry, government and
military agencies. Students are encouraged to
learn hands-on engineering applications by working
at one of our many research centers such as the
Langley Full-Scale Wind Tunnel or the Virginia
Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center.
Students receive traditional laboratory and classroom
instruction and partake in industry projects for
concerns like NASA, Northrop Grumman Newport News,
W.R. Systems, Clark-Nexsen, and the U.S. Joint
Forces Command. The college is comprised of the
departments of Aerospace; Civil and Environmental;
Electrical and Computer; Engineering Management
and Systems; Mechanical; and Engineering Technology.
The Old Dominion University College of Sciences'
degree programs are designed to prepare students
for careers in the sciences or to lay broad foundations
for specialized training in these fields of knowledge.
The college is comprised of the departments of
Biological Sciences; Chemistry and Biochemistry;
Mathematics and Statistics; Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric
Sciences; Physics (all of which cooperate with
the Darden College of Education to provide the
necessary courses for certification to teach in
the Commonwealth); Computer Sciences; and Psychology.
Both colleges are based on the main campus of
Old Dominion University in Norfolk, minutes from
