EchoStar Communications, a satellite television services provider headquartered in Englewood, Colo., announced plans to add 300 jobs at its call center operation in Montgomery County. Already employing 1,000 persons, EchoStar will become the county’s largest private employer. (05/18/2004, The Roanoke Times)

Virginia Credit & Finance, a servicing partner of Roanoke’s Atlantic Credit & Finance, plans to open debt recovery operations in Henrico County. The $1 million investment is expected to create 150 new jobs over the next two years. Virginia competed with Maryland for the investment. (05/04/04, Press release)
