AES, a global power company
based in Arlington, completed sale of its ownership
in two power generation businesses in Bandledesh
– AES Haripur and AES Meghnaghat, for $448
million. Net equity proceeds from the sale are
approximately $144 million. (Business Wire)
MeriStar Hospitality Corp.,
a hotel real estate investment trust in Arlington,
sold seven properties in the U.S. and Canada,
totaling 1,224 rooms, to five separate buyers
for $31.5 million. The sale was part of a previously
announced plan to reshape the company’s
portfolio and dispose of non-core hotel properties.
