Corporate Executive Board, a Washington, D.C.-based research firm, announced plans to move its headquarters to Arlington County. The company leased a 611,000-square-foot facility in Rosslyn and its $227 million investment is expected to create 2,500 jobs. (Press release)

GuideStar, a Williamsburg provider of information on nonprofit organizations headquartered in Williamsburg, created GuideStar International to provide a database of information on nonprofits worldwide. Operations will begin in Germany and in South Africa in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation. (Press release)

Knight-Celotex, a Northfield, Ill.-based manufacturer of fiberboard products, plans to reopen the former Masonite plant in Danville and outfit the facility for production of insulation, roofing and other fiberboard products. The $1 million investment is expected to create 145 jobs. Virginia competed with Louisiana and Pennsylvania for the project. (Press release)
