D&R Holland, a manufacturer
based in the Netherlands, plans to open an aluminum
stamping operation in the Halifax County Industrial
Park called D&R USA Inc. It will
manufacture tea light holders through a $1.2
million investment initially creating eight
jobs. Virginia competed with North Carolina

to open a cigarette contract manufacturing operation
in Halifax County through a $2 million investment

Genicom LP of Chantilly,
a printing solutions provider, and Tally
AG, a Germany-based provider of printers
for high-volume industrial and business applications,
plan to join forces to create a new company,
TallyGenicom, a global printer company headquartered

Celebrity Cruises Inc. became
the second cruise line to choose Norfolk as
a homeport in 2004. Cruises on its Horizon ship
to Bermuda will begin and end at the city's
Nauticus pier. Holland America Line announced
earlier that Norfolk would be a homeport for

of Newport News, an optical glass firm, plans
to invest $2.3 million to acquire 35 acres in
James City County's James River Commerce Center
and develop a 33,000-square-foot facility to
