General Dynamics, a Falls Church
provider of mission-critical information systems
and technologies, plans to acquire the developer
of the Pandur family of wheeled combat vehicles
and the Ulan tracked infantry fighting vehicle,
Steyr Daimler Puch Spezialfahrzeug Aktiengesellschaft
& Co., and its parent company, SSF-Holding
GmbH of Austria, to join General Dynamics’

an Internet services provider, is being acquired
by Pivotal Private Equity, a Phoenix-based provider
of equity for middle market corporate acquisitions,

Peebles Inc., a department store
retailer based in South Hill is being acquired
by Stage Stores Inc. of Houston, a larger retailer
chain, for $213.9 million. The deal unites two
retailers that sell nationally known brand names
at stores operating mostly in small and midsize

Corp. of McLean, a research and engineering
company acquired Jullien Enterprises, an electronic
security systems integrator headquartered in

Smithfield Foods Inc. in Isle
of Wight County, a hog and pork producer, won
a bidding war to buy the pork business, Farmland
Foods, a subsidiary of Farmland Industries Inc.,

technology firm was acquired by Rockefeller
Group Telecommunications Services, Inc., of
New York, a provider of voice and data telecommunications

TransMontaigne Inc. of Denver,

and supply company, purchased a 900,000 barrel
terminal in Norfolk with a two-lane truck rack
and a deepwater dock from ExxonMobil Oil Corp.
