Cowhide poor choice for December coverI
found your December 1999 cover revolting. I realize that the hide shown on the cover was
just that, and not a live cow. But the graphic, in-your-face image of the bloody, burnt,
discolored flesh has no artistic value. This is one of the uglier sides of humanity.
Im not a vegetarian or animal-rights activist. I eat meat, wear leather, share my
home with cats, dogs and horses.
If you were out to get my attention, you certainly did, but not in the manner you
intended. My reaction wasnt, "Wow!" but rather, "Yuk!"
This is enough to turn me off to your magazine completely.
