Virginia Business - Options
March 2006

Welcome to Options, a Virginia Business supplement exploring the lifestyles of Virginia executives.

There is more to life than making payroll. That is why we started Options. It will take a look at your interests outside the office.

In this first issue, our cover story examines a growing trend among upscale home owners: personal wine cellars. Wine consultants say more people are adding cellars as wine becomes an integral part of the good life in American culture.

The good life also includes a second home at a scenic spot. Our Executive Living story explains plans for Homestead Preserve, an exclusive community near The Homestead resort in Bath County. The development’s dedication to conservation will protect the landscape, preserving mountain views for home owners.

Living well, of course, also means being healthy. The Executive Health section takes a look at the variety of services being offered around the state to keep executives in peak condition.

Sometimes, though, the best prescription for office doldrums is simply getting away. With that in mind, we offer some quick glimpses at weekend getaways as well as a feature on a 21st century dude ranch.

Lastly, we profile Patricia Kluge, an entrepreneur and philanthropist who is bringing her individual style to winemaking.

But this is just the beginning. There are many more people to meet and topics to explore. We invite your input. Our next issue is scheduled to publish in July.
